Cerec

CEREC is a method used by our practice to restore any tooth that is either decayed, weakened, broken, etc. This brings the tooth to its natural strength and beauty.

Better yet, it's done with all-ceramic materials that are tooth colored in a single appointment!

So, how does the Cerec procedure work?

A camera is used to take a digital picture of your prepared tooth.
No impression material is necessary.

The CEREC 3D software takes the digital picture and converts it into a 3D virtual model on the computer screen. The restoration is designed using the CEREC 3D software.
The data is sent to a separate milling machine in our practice. The restoration is then milled out of a ceramic block that matches your tooth shade.
About 20 minutes later your ceramic, tooth-coloured restoration is finished and ready to bond in place.

BENEFITS:

  • Your tooth will be restored with no "temporary" or return trip necessary!

  • Metal free tooth colored ceramic materials are used to restore your teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function.

  • The materials closely match the composition of natural tooth structure. This means when you eat hot food and then drink something cold, the restoration and tooth expand and contract at almost equal rates.

  • Biocompatible - Minimal irritation to the gums and is also kind to teeth.

The 5 Easy Steps To Perfect Teeth

    1. Before your treatment will start your dentist will inform you about all the benifits that you will recieve from CEREC.

    2. The first step is to remove the dental caries and/or of the existing filling. The CEREC measuring camera is then used to take three-Dimensional photographs of your tooth.

    3. The contours of the ceramic restoration are then designed on the computer system.

    4. CEREC then automatically mill the shape of the required restoration out of a tooth-coloured ceramic block.

    5. Finally, the restoration is then inserted into your tooth and polished. The finished ceramic restoration look and feels exactly like a natural dental tooth enamel.
